Besides the airport, a hotel or resort often is the welcome to a destination for a traveler. If the hotel makes a great first impression then the trip is sure to be off to a great start. When I stayed at the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa earlier this summer, it would be the lodging for my first-ever trip to Mexico. So, yeah, there was some pressure on this trip-opening experience when I stepped foot on the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta property.

Hotel Review: Santa Fe Sage Inn

The Rail Yard district is just across the street from the Santa Fe Sage Inn, providing dining and shopping options.

On our fall trip to New Mexico, we had the opportunity to stay three nights in the Santa Fe Sage Inn, a¬†Downtown accommodation located just out of the historic district but close enough to still enjoy the fun. In fact, we were just across the street from the up-and-coming Santa Fe Rail Yard District and its farmers market, a positive for us considering we’re always looking for neighborhoods on the rise.

Hotel Cascada: A Comfortable Albuquerque Option

On our recent week-long adventure in New Mexico, our time in Albuquerque was a bit odd, to say the least. We started the trip with a quick overnight in the city before heading north for several days in Taos and Santa Fe. We returned to Albuquerque for a 24-hour period, a short time but long enough to experience an art show, science museum, and a couple of awesome experiences at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. And we had a comfortable night’s sleep in the Hotel Cascada.
