Hey, look, you made it back for the conclusion of this life-changing story. Today’s reading brings the final chapter of this three-part series looking back at 37 life travel moments as I celebrate turning 37 on Jan. 8. If you read the first part, you learned about this small-town kid who fell in love with travel brochures at an early age. But in the second part, you discover the girl who stole this boy’s heart, and it all has a happy home in London. Now it’s time for the rest of the story of my 37 life travel moments.
This past year has brought so many great travel experiences and discoveries, not to mention wonderful people I’ve been able to meet. Trips By Lance was launched in 2012 as a travel-planning business, but in February 2013 I switched the focus to a travel blog to share the wonderful experiences we are discovering in this great world. 2013 exposed me to new ideas, experiences and places. Here are some of my favorites in this 2013 travel year in review.
Living most my childhood in rural Arkansas I’ve been fishing too many times to count. But it typically was from the banks of a pond or lake, and never at the ocean. I’ve been to Panama City Beach 11 times now, not to mention several visits to other Florida and Alabama beach communities. I knew now was the time to finally get out in the Gulf of Mexico for some deep-sea fishing.
My family will be traveling to Panama City Beach, Fla., soon for a much-needed vacation. It will be a glorious week of sun, sand and surf, not to mention relaxing naps by the pool and lots of great seafood.
But is there more to do on a beach vacation than just relax in the sand? I’m on a mission to find out.
